As dusk falls, the Sunset Lounge reveals itself as a jewel where Cambodia’s colonial history and Khmer soul are celebrated. Housed in a meticulously restored century-old stilted farmhouse, this iconic bar offers an experience that is both elegant and intimate. From the expansive terrace, guests enjoy an unparalleled view over the rice fields and the resort’s most spectacular sunset. Plush armchairs are thoughtfully arranged so that every visitor can savor the magic of the day’s final light in absolute comfort.

100 years of history

Originally built around 1904, the Sunset Lounge is an authentic century-old Cambodian farmhouse, rooted in traditional Khmer architecture and built on stilts in the distinctive style of rural Cambodian homes. Carefully dismantled and reconstructed at its current location, each individual piece was methodically numbered by the Zannier Hotels team to ensure the building remained faithful to its original form. The only addition to its historic architecture is the south-facing terrace, creating a relaxed setting for this heritage house’s new life as a vibrant and contemporary bar.

The Sunset Lounge draws its character from the timeless elegance of traditional Cambodian homes, interpreted through the relaxed spirit of a classic gentlemen’s club. Leather furnishings, vintage-inspired details, traditional Khmer objects and intimate lighting create a warm, sophisticated setting with a strong sense of place.

Elevated above the surrounding rice fields, the Sunset Lounge offers a privileged vantage point from which to watch Cambodia’s spectacular sunsets. As dusk settles, plush leather armchairs, traditional objects, soft lighting and oil lamps create the intimate feel of a refined gentlemen’s club. From the terrace, the expansive views stretch across the paddies, while the gentle sound of frogs croaking in the surrounding landscape adds an unmistakably Cambodian rhythm to the evening. Located beside the reception, the lounge is an inviting place to pause, enjoy an aperitif and let the evening unfold.

At the heart of the Sunset Lounge is a sophisticated cocktail selection, blending local ingredients with classic techniques and contemporary creativity.
