Echoes of a first season: the artists that shaped our inaugural year of creation.
In its very first year, Zannier Île de Bendor opened the doors of the Village des Artisans’ ateliers to a circle of invited creators. For two months at a time, each artist made the island their own – living, working and creating metres from the Mediterranean, in dialogue with guests and with the craft traditions of Provence. This page traces those early residencies: the hands, the materials, the works, and the conversations that will continue to inspire the seasons to follow.
Rooted in a family heritage dating back to 1884, Franc 1884 celebrates the art of lavender craftsmanship in Provence. Under the direction of Philippe Franc, the maison reinterprets traditional lavender wands, carefully handwoven with ribbons, combining ancestral savoir-faire with contemporary elegance and the Mediterranean art of living. During its residency on Bendor Island, Franc 1884 invited visitors to discover this delicate craftsmanship through the creation of their own lavender wands, offering a sensory experience inspired by Provençal traditions.
